Chief Agronomist Sun Zhonghua meets Chairperson of Agriculture and Forestry Committee of Finnish Parliament

Chief Agronomist Sun Zhonghua met Mr. Jari Leppä, Chairperson of Agriculture and Forestry Committee of Finnish Parliament, in Beijing on April 18, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on further strengthening China-Finland agricultural cooperation.
Mr. Sun pointed out that China and Finland are highly complementary in agriculture and share many common interests. The Chinese side is willing to work with Finland to leverage the opportunity of building the China-Finland Cooperation Platform of Agricultural Development and Innovation to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of crop production, farm machinery, dairy industry and biomass energy, to promote balanced agricultural development in both countries, and achieve complementarity, mutual-benefit and win-win outcomes. Chief Agronomist Sun also briefed the Finnish side on the status of China's agriculture and rural development, agricultural production and management system, organic farming and supervision over quality & safety of agricultural products, among others.
Jari Leppä spoke highly of China-Finland agricultural cooperation, expressing that the Agriculture and Forestry Committee of Finnish Parliament will spare no effort to advance the bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
